Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
Authorities are urging individuals with information to get in touch with the investigating team.
