Performer Denies Anti-Vaccine Position After Voicing Disputed Coronavirus Film
The "Taken" star has lent his narration to a recent film that challenges the safety of vaccinations and commends ex- government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Film's Contentious Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the health crisis for allegations that Covid was linked to a problematic version of the seasonal immunization.
The publication's collaborator, a producer, has also written books with controversial media personality a known commentator. He recently posted praising Neeson's role in the film.
An Unequivocal Statement
A spokesperson for the actor have issued a response firmly refuting suggestions that he supports anti-immunization beliefs.
"Many acknowledge that misconduct can exist within the drug industry, but that must not be confused with opposition to vaccines," the comment explains. "Liam never has been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His extensive work with the UN children's agency highlights his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
The response noted that the performer was not involved in crafting the documentary's narrative and that inquiries about its claims ought to go to the creators.
Key Themes In the Film
In the film, the narration spoken by Neeson includes several controversial statements:
- It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "unconditional submission" to public institutions.
- It declares that "science has become highly politicized."
- RFK Jr is featured saying, "The major issue with vaccines is that they are not adequately tested."
- It takes aim at stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
- Regarding the immunizations, it references a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."
Past Controversy and Ongoing Disputes
The documentary also references a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the subject of a formal apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.
Recently, RFK Jr instructed the Centers for Disease Control to revise its longstanding position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is repeated in the film, even with a new report from the global health body stating no evidence has been found.
An Earlier Statement of Advocacy
Differing from the documentary's narrative, Neeson has formerly expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Two years ago, he described vaccines as "a remarkable triumph," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."
The film concludes with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This isn't the conclusion of our story. This is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
