The Blue Jays Secure World Series Matchup With defending champion Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

Springer previously helped the Houston Astros claiming the World Series in the 2017 season.

The Toronto Blue Jays earned a spot in their first World Series after 1993 by defeating the Mariners in the final Game 7 of the ALCS.

Trailing three runs to one, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run blast in the seventh inning, propelling the sole Canadian team in MLB to a four games to three victory in the seven-game series. They will now face the Dodgers, holders of the reigning title, in the upcoming Fall Classic.

"It's incredible for our team, the city, our country," commented Springer, an integral part of the Houston Astros team that won the 2017 title. "This is such an unbelievable moment."

The veteran has now slugged 23 total playoff homers, making him third in history after Manny Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"It's hard to imagine another person on planet Earth that I want up in that spot besides him with his playoff prowess," remarked Schneider.

Seattle's team, despite leading the early in the series, continue to be the only MLB franchise that has never reached in a Fall Classic.

Wilson said "without a doubt that it hurts" following his side's defeat at their home ballpark, but commended their efforts throughout the year.

"It's a special team. Sadly that we finished on the unsuccessful side of this game," he continued.

The Blue Jays won the championship on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and will welcome the Los Angeles in game one on the upcoming Friday.
