The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Fighters Table
From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Fans can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
