Ukraine Begins Large-Scale Manufacturing of Novel Defensive Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Ukraine has announced the commencement of large-scale manufacturing for a new domestically developed defensive UAV to reinforce its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have started production, with 11 more preparing to set up production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.
'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Conditions
The drones utilize a nationally created system called “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Shahed drones. This technology has been tested in combat and proved successful “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of manufacturing as many as 1,000 defensive drones each day.

Russia’s maritime terminal of Novorossiysk temporarily suspended oil exports this past Friday – equivalent to two percent of worldwide oil production – after a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Ukraine’s general staff stated its military had fired Neptune cruise missiles and deployed various types of attack UAVs in the assault against Novorossiysk “as part of efforts to reduce the strategic capabilities of the invading force.”
Ukrainian forces separately struck a processing plant in the Saratov area and a fuel storage facility in the adjacent Engels region during the night.
International Restrictions Affect Moscow's Oil Producer
The number two oil producer Lukoil said this past Friday it has been in talks with potential buyers concerning its foreign assets after last month’s restrictions from the UK and the US and failure of an agreement with the Gunvor trading house. “The specific deal will be announced once the final agreements have been reached and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained,” Lukoil stated.
Ukrainian President Schedules Diplomatic Trip to Spain
The Ukrainian leader will visit the city of Madrid, the Spanish capital, on Tuesday to confer with parliament members following his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials disclosed. The Ukrainian president would meet deputies from all houses of the legislature during his visit, the Spanish statement said.
